Hello, I'm
Taylor Hyde!
Welcome to
Study Buddy Tutoring!
My Mission
Too many people today believe that they are "bad at math." I personally think this is due to an education system which limits the way children learn and understand certain concepts. In English, art, and social studies, as long as you can justify your answer, it is correct. However, in math, there is only one right answer. Many teachers have a preferred method of solving problems, and they usually teach using that method. However, that is not always the easiest method for kids to understand. My mission as your child's study buddy is to discover the way that they learn, and teach in a way they understand. This helps build their confidence as they realize they can do math! And they might even discover that they like it.

My Experience
PRIVATE TUTOR, SOUTH KOREA
March 2020-April 2020
When schools in South Korea shut down because of COVID-19, I realized there was a need for private tutoring as a support for the students. I began tutoring two middle school students and loved it. I helped them improve their grades in many classes, including math, science, English, and social studies.
RELIGIOUS VOLUNTEER, SOUTH KOREA
July 2019-February 2020
I was asked to teach a Sunday School class for nine-year-old children who are currently living at Camp Humphreys in South Korea. Although not directly related to the subjects taught in school, this provided an opportunity for me to practice many teaching skills and understand how kids learn.

PRIVATE TUTOR, UTAH STATE
August 2016-May 2017
While enrolled in a German 101 class at Utah State University, one of my friends from the class struggled with understanding the material. I tutored him twice a week for the entire year, and his grade improved from a D (without my help) to a B+ (on his final exam).
